The team at Water Street did an incredible job presenting 6 courses starting with a selection of delicious canapés. The following courses were wonderfully seasonal, fresh and local orchestrated to a high level of culinary delight. As always the choice of dishes were complimented by the excellent choice of Noble Ridge wines.
I think one of the best ways to appreciate good wine is when it is paired with delicious, fresh dishes and good company. I highly recommend the Visa Infinite® experience to anyone wanting to further explore the wines of British Columbia and the cuisine of the best restaurants.
The month of October is synonymous with harvest time and for Canadians also Thanksgiving and Halloween. This is the time we start to think about the bounty of the local farms and markets have to offer us. Thoughts turn to cozy nights around the dinner table enjoying the best of the season. Comfort food is at the forefront and what pairs best is deep, dark, rich red wines of Côtes du Rhône.
Just about a week left to enjoy September and I can’t think of anything more enjoyable than winery touring. Kelowna and West Kelowna have some wonderful wineries making excellent wines and there are a number of restaurants that are on my swoon worthy list.
Be ready to embrace your fun side. Ricco Bambino wines are meant to be enjoyed and savoured. Share the wines with friends and family you get along with. These wines are uplifting, light hearted and will make you feel good. I really enjoyed this Rosé and will definitely be drinking it again.
I love the Guest House at Burrowing Owl and every time we stay there I wonder why I waited so long to come back. Probably one of the most relaxing stay away it’s possible to have. The suites are spacious and well appointed.
This time we’re explored “Uncork the Sun” wine country of Oliver and Osoyoos. Just a few of our #FavouriteThings wineries. September is an ideal month to visit anywhere in BC Wine Country. Fewer crowds and it’s when “the grown-ups come out to play”
With something like 35 wineries pouring fabulous Pinot Noirs the day couldn’t have possibly been any better. I tasted many, but not all, wines on offer and snacked on some delicious bites along the way. The setting was ideal and the slightly overcast day turned out to be perfect for strolling at our leisure tasting wines.
Something Old, Something New This session was so worth the price of admission and a must of Pinot Noir lovers. Four wineries were represented; Averill Creek with owner and General Manager Andy Johnston, Cedar Creek with winemaker Taylor Whelan, Meyer Family Vineyards with winemaker Chris Carson, and Tantalus with winemaker & GM David Paterson.
Another of my #FavouriteThings wine touring regions is the Sub-GI Okanagan Falls. The overall size of the area is not large but it has so many excellent wineries, making exceptional wines, that are so worth a visit.
