Tableau’s decadent dishes highlight its French-meets-West-Coast fare, showcasing Head Chefs Tommy Shorthouse & Levi Johnston’s most recent creations. Diners will have the option of enjoying Tableau’s set menu exclusively on Friday, February 14th or on Saturday, February 15th to enjoy either the set menu or Tableau’s à la carte menu.

The 100 Most Romantic list features restaurants from 31 cities across 7 provinces. Ontario tops the list with 46 establishments, followed by Alberta with 21, British Columbia with 15 and Quebec with 13. Rounding out the list are restaurants from Nova Scotia (2), Manitoba (2) and Saskatchewan (1).

Boulevard Kitchen + Oyster Bar’s Executive Chef Roger Ma Wins Canadian Culinary Championships

Head judge James Chatto explained Ma’s dish as “so meticulous, so thoughtful, yet vivid and alive. The flavours were rich, interesting and clear — it was Vancouver on a plate.” This description is identical to Ma’s intention in creating this award winning plate. Entitled BC Coastal Terroir, the ocean inspired dish is simply “who I am and where I’m from,” shares Ma.

L’Abattoir announces No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews line-up for 2020

Chef and owner of L’Abattoir, Lee Cooper and his team made the decision to shift the focus of the No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews dinners towards a higher purpose at the beginning of 2019 and haven’t looked back since.  “We had been searching for a way of making a larger impact for an organization that we believed in, so rather than making many small donations to many different causes throughout the year, we took our passion project, No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews and turned it into a fundraising program for a charity that we support wholeheartedly”, says Cooper of the shift.

Across the 5 continents, a “dinner à la française” will be held in several thousand restaurants, in addition to France’s embassies and consulates, serving over 300,000 guests. Goût de/Good France 2020 will once again place sustainable gastronomy at the centre of this new edition.
