What is impressive, is that Coltibuono is so much more than just a winery. It was expanded its offerings to include a restaurant, a cooking school, olive farming and an onsite shop selling a wide range of local products and offering tourist related activities.
We were there to find out more about the new happenings at Cowichan Valley’s Blue Grouse winery from owner Paul Brunner.

Vanessa Vineyards is located between Keremeos and Osoyoos in the Similkameen Valley, which is proving to be one of the finest wine regions in the country with hot, dry climate and frequent breezes which minimize disease and pest problems.
At the last meeting, we compared one wine served in a regular wine glass to the same wine served in a variety specific expensive Zalto wine glass. Because the wine in the second glass was noticeably improved, we did this comparison with each wine this time.
The day was organized into three panel discussions and tastings. After opening welcoming remarks from moderator Milnes, we began the ‘Women in Wine’ session. Panelists for this session were Mireille Sauvé (MS), Severine Pinte (SP), Kelsey Rufiange (KR) and Alison Moyes (AM).
Even if you limit it to a quick friendly, ‘Hello,’ and listen to the odd recommendation from a colleague, it is virtually impossible to hit all the tables you intend to, no matter how short your short list is. So, my sincere apologies to all the wonderful producers I didn’t get to.
With all wines being the same variety and from the same year one would rightfully expect a lot in common and yes, they all showed distinctive Pinot Noir character, yet they definitely all had their own personality.

The vast majority of Tempranillo is grown in Spain with lesser amounts originating in Portugal and a few other countries. Spain is also known for Garnacha and Monastrell, but Tempranillo is the main grape of Spain.
