Wendy (owner/founder) was at the helm the day we visited vinAmité. Wendy immediately exudes a warm welcoming to all who arrive on her doorstep. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it was a delight to join in the conversation about the success of the little gem in the Oliver wine region.

There are numerous opportunities to sample the new spring releases. This Spring Release Wine tasting Part One included wines from Australia, Austria, Chile and Italy. These selections were from the HQ Wines portfolio presented by Town Hall Brands held at the Listel Hotel in late March.
The Tasting Games North Okanagan division event in Kelowna was our biggest, baddest event so far! On stage, the hilarious Howard Soon – decked out in a Kelowna Rockets jersey and repping the valley – took on the esteemed wine educator DJ Kearney and the laid back Vancouver sommelier Matthew Landry.
Hosted by Master of Wine Rhys Pender, each of the fun, irreverent events in Oliver, Penticton and Kelowna will feature three wine industry celebrities on stage, blind tasting five wines. The evening will begin with a quick “how to blind taste wine” tutorial from Rhys, and then the game is on!
Ten BC chardonnay wines tasted blind (we didn’t know what they were). We were told that they were all BC wines from the 2016 vintage and from different regions of BC. And then the game was afoot.
Thursday morning, the last day of January, and I am seated in The Wine Bar at Provence Marinaside. I am here to learn from Daina Paulin all about the Wines of Chateau Haut-Bailly, a Grand Cru Classé from the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux.
Dine Out Vancouver Festival – The Grand Tasting was an opportunity to taste bites from fourteen local restaurants that are participating in Dine Out Vancouver Festival which begins today and runs through February 4th. Alongside the culinary stations was a representation of BC wineries. This included 27 wineries, four breweries, cideries and distillers. So basically two stations of libations for every culinary station.
