The Uncommon Cafe pushes forward into the change that Covid has forced on us all, with a plan of growth but more geared towards the days of old. A growth plan, with the soul of East Van.
Each restaurant has a featured dish and the proceeds of that dish go to the Powell Street Getaway at 528 Powell Street, a peer-led resource centre that supports people living with chronic illnesses, addictions and/or mental health challenges. Funds raised from Dine Railtown will be put directly towards Powell Street Getaway programming and initiatives.
Nine leading Railtown restaurants and cafés will come together to showcase the heart of a growing culinary community and help support a community-serving organization when the month-long Dine Railtown initiative debuts on November 1.
