Harvest 2019 is in full swing and we are happy to announce that our 2017 Meritage is officially released, available only online and at our wine shop. This special blend is hand crafted by Charlie- he began making this wine while pruning in the early spring of 2017.
Winemakers remain optimistic as they head into the last few weeks of harvest with many looking forward to lower alcohol levels and vibrant natural acidity for a fresh and elegant 2019 vintage.
Following an introduction while attending the Garagiste North – small guys wine festival we made a point of getting out to Lariana for a tasting of their wines.
Some stand-out wines of the evening included the 2018 Wild Goose Winery Gewurztraminer – drier this year than last – and the 2017 Moon Curser Touriga Nacional. DaSilva’s 2015 Syrah Malbec was one of the most interesting wines of the evening; it was coming from a super BC vintage and exuded a beautiful balance of fruit and spice.
