Day Three and it falls on a #WineWednesday. That seems apropos for the legend that was Harry McWatters. Dubbed the “godfather” of BC Wine meant with great respect for this pioneer of the British Columbia wine industry.

With glass in hand we entered the Culinary Theatre where the Culinary Workshops take place now through December. There are several options for the Dynamics of Food & Wine series where the professional Culinary team prepare dishes that guests will later enjoy paired with Mission Hill wines.

On our most recent visit we tagged along with Burrowing Owl’s Brand Ambassador Stephen Neumann. I was amazed at how much there was to learn about Burrowing Owl, from their beginnings to the family legacy it was a fascinating tour.
The Golden Mile Bench winery is elated with a platinum win amongst the 15 medals awarded through blind tastings by a panel of twenty-one judges from eight provinces.
“The ‘Winery of the Year’ designation is as big as it gets in Canadian wine,” said David Lawrason, co-Chairman of the National Wine Awards. “We are very impressed that the performance of Mission Hill Family Estate led all others in 2019 with an incredible 18 medals.”
