A boutique winery located on the Reed Creek alluvial Fan at the North end of the Benches of the Golden Mile. Fairview Cellars is the culmination of a life long quest of Bill Eggerts to own and operate his own winery.
This is a one of a kind find, a three stop shop in one, that you will not find in stores. Direct from the Winemakers, we are offering selections from our Libraries as well as wines that are “Sold Out” to the public.
We are encouraging BC wine lovers to order from their favourite wineries and help support the BC wine industry. The wineries jumped onboard and each winery has a special shipping incentive for online orders.
Cabernet sauvignon, the offspring of cabernet franc and sauvignon blanc, is often referred to as the ‘king of grapes’ and it is grown in most wine-producing areas. It is a late ripener, so it does best in hotter climates.
This time we’re explored “Uncork the Sun” wine country of Oliver and Osoyoos. Just a few of our #FavouriteThings wineries. September is an ideal month to visit anywhere in BC Wine Country. Fewer crowds and it’s when “the grown-ups come out to play”
From April 1st through 30th, join Provence Marinaside in Yaletown for some finny fun and fine food at its 11th annual Poisson d’Avril. In France, ‘Poisson d’Avril’ (April’s Fish) is a one-day affair corresponding to our April Fool’s Day.
What you may ask is the BCWAS? Established in 2005, British Columbia Wine Appreciation Society is a not-for-profit organization showcasing the wines of British Columbia through monthly tasting events. Our events range from informal walk-around tastings to formal tastings with the winemakers and/or winery principals. Attendees enjoy tasting, learning and discussing wine in a relaxed atmosphere.
Our intrepid wine reviewer Sam Hauck, aka the Wine Teacher, is a wine judge, a member of the Wine Guild and a wine teacher. Sam’s reviews are a guide to good wine.
A few more “non wine” suggestions on the list as we continue on through December. Now including bubbly and sparkling #FavouriteThings that are just right for Christmas and New Years.
