TOP CHEF TO EXECUTIVE CHEF Notch8 Restaurant – a review

Leading the kitchen in Notch8 Restaurant & Bar at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is no small undertaking. The restaurant’s doors stay open 365 days a year, serving four different meal periods daily to guests from around the globe. Dennis Peckham rose to the challenge becoming Notch8’s Executive Chef in May 2019.

Come Away to an Exceptional Stay at the Burrowing Owl Guest House

I love the Guest House at Burrowing Owl and every time we stay there I wonder why I waited so long to come back. Probably one of the most relaxing stay away it’s possible to have. The suites are spacious and well appointed.

Curating Your Own Tasting Menu at the Sonora Room Restaurant at Burrowing Owl

In fact I was so excited about the first course options I decided, even before we arrived, that it would be fun and a bit adventurous to start at the top and work all the way through the list, sharing the dishes, of course.

Come Along and Discover What Else Awaits You at Burrowing Owl

On our most recent visit we tagged along with Burrowing Owl’s Brand Ambassador Stephen Neumann. I was amazed at how much there was to learn about Burrowing Owl, from their beginnings to the family legacy it was a fascinating tour.

BC’s Burrowing Owl Estate Winery is a leader in sustainable viticulture and winemaking practices. This event is one in a series being organized by First Things First Okanagan.

Tasting Ten January 2019 – a flight of Cabernet Franc

Our tastings are always done blind (bottles wrapped in brown paper bags).  All we knew was that founding member Wayne Meadows, organized a flight of Cabernet Franc from BC, Washington and France and that the wines were from vintages 2009 – 2012.

Where are you dining for Dine Out Vancouver Fest? – Vancouver Fish Company

Clearly the Vancouver Fish Company knows seafood and how to prepare some fabulous fare. “Home of Amazing Seafood and West Coast Hospitality” is their mantra and I would concur. Although we enjoyed just a sampling of each dish it was enough to recommend Vancouver Fish Company as a “must visit” during Dine Out Vancouver Festival.

Where are you dining for Dine Out Vancouver Fest? – The SandBar Seafood Restaurant

The second of three restaurants on our tasting tour for Dine Out Vancouver Festival was The SandBar Seafood Restaurant.

Road tripping to the Okanagan in the Ford Escape
